The new headquarters of PSNC named Polish Optical Internet Research Center (CBPIO) was officially opened 22/23 September 2015 in Poznan (Poland). The central point of the second day of the event was the visit of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda. The president met with the Directorate and employees of PSNC during an occasional conference.
Sony has today announced it is outfitting the PSNC UHD research laboratory with 8K 3D Live over IP technology. The 8K 3D solutions will increase the competitive leadership of The Polish research centre and scientific research by delivering detailed, high quality video transmission over high speed networks with low-latency, facilitating improved remote production and collaboration among researchers and artists across the country and in Europe.
At the beginning of August 2015 Digital National Museum in Warsaw has been upgraded to the newest version of dMuseion – version 1.1.0.
dArceo is a long term preservation system for source data (e.g. master files), initially developed by PSNC as a part of the SYNAT project . This system has been successfully included in the PSNC package DInGO – the set of tools to digitize and share collections on-line and it is currently used by dozens of Polish cultural and scientific institutions.
The registration for 19th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries organized in Poznan, Poland on 14-18.09.2015 is now open! Early registration deadline is the end of July, late registration closes in the end of August.
PSNC together with eleven leading national research and education networks (NRENs) representing the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe announced the official launch of the second “Enlighten Your Research Global” (EYR-Global) program. This program, which helps accelerate international research collaborations by providing selected proposals with improved networking, data transfers, and/or engineering, is now accepting proposals.
