On the occasion of opening of the new laboratory of high definition at Colchester, Great Britain, as a result of cooperation between PSNC and the University of Essex, the first presentation of 4K video streaming according to the standards determined by the Digital Cinema Initiatives was carried out.

The first edition of the Internet-Infrastructures-Innovations Conference in Poznan was both well organized and well attended.

The 4K Initiative was introduced during the ‘i3 Conference – Internet, Infrastructures, Innovations’.

i3: Internet-Infrastructures-Innovations. Science in the face of digital society is the name of the 1st Scientific Conference organized by PIONIER Polish Optical Internet and the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center.

The first demonstration of stream 4K transmission was held on September 29^th 2009 with the use of the RTP protocol and the JPEG2000 algorithm.

The 4K Initiative was presented during the ‘Researcher’s Night’ event on September 25^th 2009.
