GeeCON 2011 – Welcome to Cracow

For four days, from 11th to 14th May 2011 – Cracow became the world capital of Java. All that because of the International GeeCON Conference. PSNC is the technical partner of this event.

GeeCON is an international conference that focuses on Java language and Java Virtual Machine based technologies. The aim of the meeting is to create an event that becomes a forum for the exchange of knowledge and experience on IT issues. In particular,  GeeCON will focus on topics of modern software development methodologies, Java language and other programming technologies operating on Java Virtual Machine.

This year the conference will be attended by the world-renowned speakers:

Juergen Hoeller – Spring Framework co-founder, author of the bestseller Expert 1-on-1 J2EE Development without EJB
Emmanuel Bernard – platform architect in JBoss
Danny Coward – platform architect in Oracle
David Pollak – Lift framework creator and Scala language expert
Andres Almiray – expert in alternative languages on the JVM machine
Heinz Kabutz – author of “The Java Specialists’ Newsletter”, read in 120 countries by 50000 people
Jaroslav Tulach – creator of the NetBeans IDE and NetBeans Platform Architect
Jim Webber – author of Rest in Practice, an expert on SOA and WebServices

This year’s GeeCON consists of three unique events:

1) GeeCON University – the day on which the most interesting topics are discussed in more detailed way during the 3-hour lectures. It will be held on 11th May in Krakow’s Multikino.

2) Between 12th and 13th May in the abovementioned cinema will also take place the main conference. During the lectures the experts will share with participants their knowledge on such topics as: Java, Agile, Cloud, NoSQL, Groovy, Scala.

3) On 14th May Community Day will be held which will be the day of workshops. On that day you can also participate in the first “HackerGarten” in Poland!

GeeCON has also an absolutely unique atmosphere promoted on huge screens and excellent sound system and a unique chance to meet with developers, architects and accompanied by great sound. It is also a chance to meet developers, architects and team leaders creating the Java community from around the world who will be happy to talk to anyone.

All the presentations will be recorded “live” by Network Services team from PSNC.
