TERENA Networking Conference 2011: enabling communities
This year’s edition of the international TERENA conference will take place in Prague (16-19.05.2011). During a four-day event, participants will present their latest research projects. Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center and PIONIER Consortium will also present their achievements.

The TERENA Networking Conference (TNC) is the largest and most prestigious European research networking conference – over 500 participants including decision makers, networking specialists and managers from all major European networking and research organisations, universities, worldwide sister institutions and industry representatives attend. Through keynote speeches by renowned specialists and many parallel sessions, the Conference presents an overview of the latest developments in research networking, both in the technical field and in the areas of application and management.

The TNC2011 will be hosted by the Czech National Research and Education Network (CESNET) and held in the picturesquely situated on the hills above the river Vltava, enchanting visitors for centuries Prague. CESNET provides network connectivity to all state Czech universities, colleges and research institutes. CESNET participates in a number of pioneering international projects, acting on the educational demands of networking development in the Czech Republic.

Keynote speeches by renowned specialists and interactive discussions between proven experts will bring to life the theme “Enabling communities”, and provide participants with an overview of the latest developments in research networking, both in the technical field and in the areas of application and management. Plenary sessions will set the tone for topics explored in more detail throughout four parallel tracks: “future networks”, “supporting collaborations and advanced applications”, “communities and identities”, and “digital lifestyle”.

PSNC in Prague will show the results of 4K laboratory research, including recent achievements in the field of 3D visualization using two 4K projectors, as well as innovative design, which allow the transmission of “live” signals via RedOne cinematographic camera. In addition, 4K resolution image can be seen with the use of “Virtall” application which will show high-resolution three-dimensional models of architectural objects.

There will also be the possibility to watch high-resolution 4K videos, transmitted to Prague with direct streaming from Poznan through the PIONIER Network to CESNET Network.
