Tests of 8K 3D transmission on 17.000 km in 100Gb/s network
On 26-30 October SONY delivered to PSNC 8K live cameras and IP Live transmission system, which was bought as a part of the New UHD Media Services in Optical Networks Laboratory of the Future ICT project.

For performance tests with realistic delay, Network Services and Infrastructure Department established 100Gb/s test optical loop of 17.382 km in PIONIER network using equipment bought for 100NET project. The link generated 85 ms delay, so there was possible to simulate real appliances of 8K 3D transmission which consumed about 30Gb/s bandwidth.

Both 8K camera live system on 3D rig and IP live streaming system was designed, constructed and delivered by SONY for ultra high resolution and transmission research performed by New Media Department of PSNC. Using this technology, PSNC plans new demonstrations and experiments as well as providing the technology for scientists and reasearchers from Poland end Europe in common research projects. The New UHD Media Services in Optical Networks Laboratory intends to create a reference laboratory and experimental space for UHD technology vendors and companies using 8K in their applications.
