Such a wide range of services’ implementation is a consequence of many research projects, mainly within international consortia in EU framework programmes. PSNC performs a function of either coordination or active participation in several consortia working on network issues.

Grid is a distributed system connecting computing resources, repositories and data production via Internet. Thus it enables real or virtual organizations with geographically distributed devices to make use of them in a more efficient way. HPC centre in the PSNC is a part of such a global grid.

Modern resource centre of PSNC meets specific security requirements within the field of protected power supply, redundant air conditioning and monitored physical access. The devices in the centre have been guaranteeing for many years the functioning of national optical network PIONIER, metropolitan network POZMAN and international link with GÉANT. Resource centre is the central point of all our accessible services: computing, archive, collocation, hosting and interactive television, too.
