The project provides the European research environment with access to user oriented network services that offer high quality service in the environment of multiple domains and network technologies. The project was to identify a set of uniform guaranteed quality services based on requirements of various user groups and on capabilities offered by available technologies.

In the project, a detailed analysis of user QoS requirements has been carried out, and QoS services have been set (Best Effort, Premium IP, IP+). Among them was the Premium IP service which ensures high quality (equivalent to a dedicated connection) end-to-end multiple domain connections, and is independent of the applied network technology. The architecture has been implemented in a test network and in the pan-European research network GÉANT
