dMuseion - Digital Museum Framework

dMuseion is a software tool for building digital museums. It has been developed by Poznań Supercomputing and Networking Center since 2009. Development activities are led in collaboration with National Museum in Warsaw, which provides substantial support in non-technical matters.

dMuseion features allow museums to submit and then make object’s presentations (digital presentation of museum exhibits) publicly available. Currently dMuseion gives access not only to simple functions such as searching and browsing, but also to more advanced and specialized such as MONA museum standard importing function. Additionally, by the graphically rich user interface, dMuseion tries to present its resources in the most interesting and usable way.

dMuseion interoperability features include exchange of information about digital objects with the use of well-known standards such as RSS, RDF or OAI-PMH. Based on that is it possible for external services, such as internet search engines or metadata aggregators, to utilize these data for their needs.
