The major goal of WLIN is to create an educational platform with the use of a dedicated Learning Management System, that will allow to expand and fully exploit e-learning opportunities. The platform wil containthe following areas:

1. Fenology,
2. Water conditions,
3. Environment chemistry.

The accessible information will come from measurement tools, placed outdoors in the monitored areas, connected to the system since 2005 when the VLab (Virtual Laboratories) project started. These tools allow for observing fenological processes, water quality and atmospherical conditions.

A dedicated system for observing fenological processes. The system allows for remote operation of outdoor tools, and high quality of results thanks to the use of dark fiber network that connects all measuring points.

Results of WLIN will create a solid knowledge base about chosen aspects of environment that can be used and presented in modern and attractive ways.

In the long run, the project should trigger a new tendency to use existing and coming high-tech measuring tools for education purposes. This may encourage authorities to use natural resources as a hands-on experience for learners.

The results will lead to a better understanding of fenological processes, dates of harvesting and seeding, etc. Information about coming droughts and polution (including eutrofization of water) may become also qiute useful.

The project may raise the awareness about the need for sustainable growth, ecologization of everyday life and a more efficient use of natural resources.
