Serpens suite for Kepler Scientific workflow orchestration system

Serpens suite for Kepler is a set of actors, composites and workflows, developed by Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center (PSNC), that provide support for different grid middleware stacks - (e.g. gLite and UNICORE). The extension covers the standard activities related to remote job management. Serpens is included in the official Kepler repository and is available in the Kepler releases. The project adopted to Kepler's lifecycle by changing the release and versioning scheme. Serpens contains three modules additional to regular Kepler release: gLite, UNICORE, Vine::Toolkit. Modules comes with documentation of every actor and examples ranging from basic operations to a full-featured workflow: from input preparation, job submission and monitoring to the final step of output retrieval. Serpens has been deployed in terms of following EU projects: EUFORIA, EGI_INSPIRE, EFDA ITM for number of the applications (mainly from the Fusion field).
Kepler is free and open source application for scientific workflow management. Kepler is designed to help scientists and developers to create, execute, and share models (workflows) that can refer to broad range of scientific and engineering disciplines. Kepler ships with a searchable library containing over 350, ready to use processing components ('actors'). These can be easily customized, connected, and then run (as a workflow) from a desktop like environment. Actors can perform calculations, automatic data management, or even execution of external applications.
