HELPS

Housing and Home care for the elderly and vulnerable people and local partnership strategies in Central European Cities

The HELPS project, financed within Central Europe Programme by the European Regional Development Fund, promotes development strategies and practices improving the quality of life of vulnerable groups with a strategic focus on elderly and people with disabilities, in urban area of Central Europe. In particular, the HELPS project  aims to develop and consolidate innovative housing and care solutions by supporting models of integrated local governance able to orient policies, products and services.

 

Through a highly integrated approach, the HELPS project addresses six challenges:

  • Access to information about services for independent living
  • Accessibility of daily life spaces and urban areas
  • Empowerment of formal and informal caregivers and of professionals from relevant fields
  • Reinforcement of social linkages at neighborhood level
  • Adoption of ICT devices
  • Sustainability and efficiency of care systems

HELPS Project has been approved within the Central Europe 2010 Restricted Call for Strategic Projects, priority Competitiveness, and has started in October 2011. Kick-off Meeting of strategic project HELPS will be held on the 6th and 7th December 2011 in Poznań.
