Linking European and Chinese Research Infrastructures and Communities

High-capacity, high-quality connectivity is vital for conducting modern scientific and research programmes where global collaborations are the norm. ORIENTplus is essential e-infrastructure that connect over 100 million users at 10,000 institutions connected to pan-european GÉANT network and European NRENs and over 40 milion users at over 2000 sites in China. The ORIENTplus project is jointly funded by the European Commission through its 7th Framework Programme, the European NREN partners and the Chinese government. ORIENTplus is coordinated by DANTE (UK) and involves 9 partners from Europe - PCSS (PL), Basnet (BY), CESNET (CZ), DFN (DE), e-ARENA (RU), GARR (IT), GRNET (GR), Janet (UK), NORDUnet (DK, FI, IS, NO, SE) and 2 from China - CERNET and CSTNET.
