MAN-HA

Deploying high-availability, critical services in Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN-HA)

MAN-HA is a EU-funded project developed by MAN and HPC centers in Poland for higher-education institutions, R&D centers, PAN institutes as well as for students, research companies, government institutions, administration and ICT community in general.

The purpose of the project is to integrate selected services available in PIONIER network as well as to develop new services with focus on high-availability (HA), increased security, simplicity of accessing resources, federation support and cloud computing.

MAN-HA is a logical continuation of previous projects developed by members of PIONIER consortium, such as PLATON, NewMAN and NDS/NDS2 as well as other activities related to CERT PIONIER, digital libraries technologies and secure backup services.

The project will enhance existing infrastructure deployed in 21 MAN centers with new hardware components, namely firewalls and servers as well as with new software that will be either developed within the project or acquired from 3rd parties.
