Lambda User Controlled Infrastructure for European Research
Lambda User Controlled Infrastructure for European Research

The European project named PHOSPHORUS focuses on integrating optical networks and the e-infrastructure computing resources (http://www.phosphorus.pl/).
The PHOSPHORUS project covers both the problems of on-demand services delivery and Grid extension of telecommunications standards (like GMPLS). High integration between user applications, Grid Middleware and optical networks has been achieved in the project. The outcomes are verified in a dedicated test-bed interconnecting European and worldwide optical infrastructures. Specifically, the test-bed involves European NRENs and national test-beds, as well as GÉANT2, Cross Border Dark Fibre, and GLIF infrastructures.
The software created in the PHOSPHORUS project enables seamless and single-step provisioning of Grid and Network resources.
