Emitter is a live broadcast audio in Ogg Vorbis technology distribution system. Ogg Vorbis is a patent-free sound compression format with better performance than MP3. The system can also broadcast audio + video using also patent-free image compression format OggTheora. The system was launched in the PIONIER network and currently transmits more than 50 radio stations. System nodes are located in nine municipal networks thereby creating a cluster of servers, enabling the transfer of streams closer to the end user. The system is used simultaneously by about 9,000 members. The maximum value of simultaneous transfers exceeded 14.5 thousand.
