OGF-EUROPE

OGF (Open Grid Forum) and its European Chapter, OGF-Europe, is an open community committed to driving the rapid evolution and adoption of applied distributed computing. Applied Distributed Computing is critical to developing new, innovative, and scalable applications and infrastructures that are essential to productivity in the enterprise and within the science community.
OGF and OGF-Europe are chartered with fostering open forums that build the community, explore trends, share best practices, and consolidate these best practices into standards. OGF-Europe comes at a crucial time in IT development where the use of distributed computing is transforming the IT landscape in the shift towards an increasingly global, knowledge-based economy.
OGF-Europe is interacting with diverse organisations across a wide range of verticals and domains to help create awareness of distributed computing and the major benefits it delivers.OGF-Europe aims to play a key role in influencing the drive towards global standardisation efforts and in bringing best practices back into the EU computing environment.
Craig Lee, the OGF President, said: "OGF-Europe provides us with the resources needed to deeply engage with European grid users and providers and to respond to their unique set of requirements."
